Founder, Gem Smiles Foundation

Emilio Mbuki is the Founder of Gem Smiles Foundation, driven by a deep passion for community oral health and preventive dentistry. With a strong vision for equitable access to oral healthcare, he established the foundation to create awareness, promote oral hygiene education, and deliver impactful outreach programs to underserved communities. Emilio’s leadership is guided by compassion, service, and a commitment to empowering communities to achieve healthier smiles and improved quality of life.

Cosmas Genga

Co – Founder, Gem Smiles Foundation

Cosmas Genga is the Co-Founder of Gem Smiles Foundation. As a dedicated dental-surgery student and passionate oral-health advocate, he helped launch the foundation to bring free dental care, preventive dentistry education, and community outreach to underserved populations across Kenya. Through his leadership and commitment, Cosmas works to ensure that quality oral health services — often inaccessible to many — become available to all, helping communities regain confidence, dignity, and healthier smiles.

Laureen Tarus

Secretary, Gem Smiles Foundation

Laureen Tarus is the Secretary of Gem Smiles Foundation and an aspiring dentist passionate about improving community oral health. In her role, she manages communications, records, and program coordination, helping the foundation run effective outreach initiatives. Laureen is committed to advancing preventive care and education, with the goal of contributing to a healthier, more confident generation through dentistry.

Joseph Malusi

Projects and Outreach Coordinator, Gem Smiles Foundation

Joseph Malusi serves as the Projects and Outreach Coordinator at Gem Smiles Foundation. A dedicated MBChB student, he brings a strong passion for community health and service to the foundation’s outreach initiatives. Joseph plays a key role in planning, coordinating, and implementing community programs, ensuring that outreach activities are impactful, well-organized, and responsive to community needs. His commitment to service and collaborative leadership supports the foundation’s mission of improving health and well-being in underserved communities.

Boniface Muendo
